Best online deals for Mac300 / 250 lamps

Recommended Posts

The MSD 250/2 is a Philips Broadway lamp, the HSD250 is probably an Osram lamp - I don't know of another manufacturer using HSD nomenclature.

Lamp life claims to be equivalent.

Philips MSD output of 18000lm at 8500 K

Osram HSD output of 17000lm at 6000 - 7800 K (Depending on model)

So the Philips MSD is brighter and bluer.

Unfortunately I've always had 'preferred suppliers' - we've used Stage Electrics, AC Lighting and Whitelight. Can't comment on price as I never see the budget, just the goods!

I think most folks would suggest that is a very nice position in which to be!
It is until you get to the stage of

T: "I need ten lamps"

"We don't have them. Are you sure you need them?"

T: "!!??"

If you are part of a company and can set up an account then I have always found the best company to be Mico Lighting in Leeds. I did a comparisom of all the lamps we use and the lamp prices using Stage, Whitelight, Lamp Merchant, International Lamps and AC Lighting. Bar a couple of theatre lamps which I cant remember, Mico saved a lot of money. If we bought one of every type thne Mico immediately saved us £300.! In one Hit!!! So if you have the time, they were definately the cheapest ever for the MSR stuff and MSD stuff. They also only deal normally in Philips and Osram
