ghance
hi guys, I urgently need suggestions for suppliers of pa tower. must be single mast type, at least 10m high, 1-tonne load. something like litec's FLYINTOWER L52 http://www.litec.it/images/upload/prodotti/FLYL52_ZOOM.jpg application: Outdoor event. moderate slope. firm grass. flying 12 box of d&b Q1 (300Kg's - 4m deep hang). need to allow for a bit more of a curvature in the array than normal as the audience slope down-hill from PA. I like the summit smartmast1, but would like to try a V mast. I've tried serious stages, but no joy. suggestions please! ta mucho .spike

johnhuson
Star Events Group have exactly what you need, and it's called a V-Tower, link to web page below. Give them a call they're a very helpful company, Roger Barrett one of the companies directors also pop's up in the Blue Room from time to time. Chris Hinds
I can't remember who makes them but Mark Payne (SFL Group) has some really nifty towers that can fly to that height and take 300kg or so. Very small footprint jobbies. If he see's this I expect he'll let you know Regards Chris
Jivemaster
Once you say "slope" all caring hirers will say How Much slope and how much levelling do they need to supply, as all structures are designed for use on a horizontal base.
Ben Lawrance
Is this to Buy or Hire? In response to Chris' post above. They were mobile-tech towers. CheersBen

charlyfarly
As johnhuson says. This is not a dry hire. Get a company that knows what's it doing to sort you out. Some "towers" might look OK but are actually seriously iffy...and that is going before the "extra" H & S problems. Don't go it alone. Get the advice of people that know what they are talking about. The hint is in an earlier posting for a company that knows what they are talking about in respect to this.
ghance
thanks guys! all very helpful. its definitely a wet hire.. I'd already tried star rigging but was told they're double booked.. will try mark, although I think at 300Kg isn't that the litec / prolyte 7.5m towers? anyway keep trying. Big Dave
You Can get the Prolyte V towers to 9m but I think they only then rated to 500Kg which will be fine for 12 Q1's. You can build these on a slope but you to ensure that the base "V" does have to be flat and level. I've built and used this type of many times in all sorts of locations - just takes a bit of thought. I seem to remember that Outback have these to 15m if not Dobson Sound (020 8545 0202) have a couple of 9m Prolyte masts. PM me if you need anymore details. Just re read the post - you might have issues getting the amount of curviture you need on the array on a single mast unless you go for a much higher tower and trim the array way below the mast head (this does create other issues). You'll need to look at the mast drawings to work out if it will work on the tower you are after. If not, maybe a Teepee mast?
Mark Payne
Yo Spike, My small neat stuff is good for 7M max.... its a 6box Q1 solution. With a 12box hang, I agree you are going to need 10M. No point adding the boxes to the drop without the height. I am teaching an M7 seminar tomorrow and the Q1 array on friday but if I get free I will have a look around.Do you have your Q1 line up or do you want to hire ours? ;-) Peach Mark PS wot about the teepees I introduced at Big Chill? 11M point. thanks guys! all very helpful. its definitely a wet hire.. I'd already tried star rigging but was told they're double booked.. will try mark, although I think at 300Kg isn't that the litec / prolyte 7.5m towers? anyway keep trying.
