Low_ID
Hello everyone there. Does somebody knows a way to create quantities of green coloured smoke, different from pyro techniques? ¿?¿? Thanks in advance for any reply
GridGirl
I believe you can get coloured smoke fluid, but the flipside of that is that it stains everything it touches - including skin! I could be wrong though...
Whiteout
How about using green lighting on regular smoke?
Ynot
Does somebody knows a way to create quantities of green coloured smoke, different from pyro techniques? It's highly unlikely that you'll find any smoke machine fluid that will give you green smoke for a variety of reasons. It can be toxic, because you'd have to effectively burn additional chemicals to create the colour, but it would alsoalmost certainlystain everything it came into contact with. That's the problem with many coloured pyro effects aswell, I'm afraid. Go with a lighting solution if you can. TD

I could be wrong though... No, you cant get colour fluid for smoke machines. You can get scents but not colours. I'm sure there is another way but I have only ever know how to do it by pyro. If you do a search there is a topic on coloured smoke for machines, and why its not possible to do. HTHRich
Jivemaster
Green smoke is usually intended for outdoor use, it STAINS! Typical uses are aerobatic aircraft trails and freefall parachutist tracking. Any indoor use tends to be prohibitively messy and renders sets "single use" because of staining. Getting something that is cleared for indoor use will be difficult as parachutist tracking is definitely a Well Ventilated location and their kit is made for this purpose. Green light on white smoke is a much safer route to this effect. By the use of inverted question marks I guess you may be Spanish speaking. Look out a local parachute club and find what they would use, if you have the ventilation!
Tomo
Light the white stuff. You'll have complete control over the colour as a free bonus. Coloured smoke makes a hideous mess.
Low_ID
OK, I get it. Thanks to you all. With this various answers I get an idea of what can be done and what not. The green smoke is to be used intensively in a movie shooting and somebody from the effects team asked me if I knew a way to generate that with their own fog machines or by other methods. As at the moment I really don't know if shootings are to be indoors or outdoors, night or daytime, I'm not sure of which one will be the best solution for them. I will refer him to this forum to read your answers and participate himself in case. Thanks to all again.
