Tas Mini Ultra Scans

Hey all,

Someone I know through someone else is selling his 8 Tas Mini Ultra Scans, 4 I think are scan 200's. I think his quote per scan is in the region of £50- £70 each. I was just wondering if you, the humble BR's, think it is worth considering buying them. I don't know any specs on them so some detail would be great - though I know they are proper old skool scans which is putting me off slightly with reasons of getting parts etc. Another thing is that the beam angle on the 200's is only 9 degrees which seems very tight.

They would be used in a live venue with some CP Mini scan HPE's.

Cheers guys.

I have some of these. The price looks very good asuming they work. I bought mine second hand and they were fine. The main problem is they are retty big for what they do. Okay if a permenant install, but a pain if you are putting them up every night!

I agree the lens is very tight. As to other specs, they are not in front of me so I cant help! Obviously support is non existent!

I had 6 of these in to repair a while back, main thing that was failing on them was the Gobo rotation Triac, seems to be that when they get too hot they split the triac, so I fitted a small heat sink to them to help get over this. Also, after much Googling, talking to people, and phone calls, managed to find out that TAS are now owned by Coemar, and threw them you can things like new main boards for them. However, be prepared to pay in the region of £500 for them!

TAS MiniUltraScans are wonderfull beasts, they are the same basis as the Coemar Microscans (which can be either halogen 650W or 575MSR depending on the version). When cleaned and maintained it is a good reliable scanner even is the beam is really narrow (my main concern about it).

ps: if you have some more to sell at this price I may be a interested :)
