Jahchild
I am new in this industry and want to either build or buy a relatively simply stage. I wanted to know if there where any places where I could go to purchase or hire an engineer to design a stage for me? I would really appreciate as much help as I can get in this area. Stage size: Performance area: 40ft by 20 ft or there abouts
Guest lightnix
Hello Jahchild, welcome to the Blue Room While we're waiting for somebody who knows more about stages than me to reply, can you tell us a little more about the sort of productions it will be used on and how high you will be building it? For example, will it's main use be for corporate events in hotels, where the people on stage need to be less than one metre above the audience, or will it be used on outdoor events, where the performers may need to stand higher than the audience's heads? Also: how many performers will you be expecting the stage to carry, i.e. how much weight? Will there just be a few band members or a choir of hundreds? If you can tell us this, then hopefully somebody should be able to give you some helpful information.
Jahchild
The Stage would be used for outdoor events and would need to be above audiences heads. It will need to be able to carry a large band and equiptment with poss space for a backstage. - unnecessary repeat of earlier post edited out. Roderick
I have used these a lot and found them easy to build, flexible and sturdy.StageRightThe added bonus is that you can add more pieces when budget allows.
wycome5
It might be worth noting that the topic started is in West Africa so UK links may not be that useful.
Jahchild
I am in the Uk and will be exporting the stage so UK links will be fine.

Paul Jordan
Try Brilliant Stages in Hitchin... they have two standard staging products: DEK and DEKEX for different loading applications. They are also able to design a system to your exact requirements. Talk to John or Tony. BR Paul
RogerB
Paul I think in the spirit of openess that pervades the Blue Room, you shouldn't have forgotten to mention that your company owns Brilliant Stages! (Top company though they are) Best RogerB

My profile clearly states who I work for and what we do, so I apologise if anybody feels I'm destroying the openness of the Blue Room.
