benweblight
I'm looking at buying some lectriflex connectors, am I right in thinking I need a 'hood' and 'insert' for each connector? many thanks
Guest lightnix
Yes, that's right, although it's many years since I've ordered any myself. There are different styles of shells available for different connectors, some where the cable comes straight in, others where it comes in at a right angle. Don't forget to order the ones with the heavy duty, screw-down cable glands (you may have to order them as extras and screw into the cable inlet) - the standard rubber grommet offers absolutely no strain relief at all. Why are you interested in Lectriflex, BTW ?
benweblight
er, seems cheaper than soca, tight budget
Ynot
er, seems cheaper than soca, tight budgetCheck Ebay regularly - there seem to be quite a few people selling off second hand soca AND lectriflex cables & fans. DT
gareth
er, seems cheaper than soca, tight budgetBut the entertainment lighting world is pretty much standardised on Socapex. Even White Light and Stage Electrics, who used to use Leci as their 'standard' multicore connector, are crossing over to the other camp.
