PDD
Podgers can be purchased from Screwfix direct. Also known by them as "Construction Spanners"Thanks - I had checked there, and all the usual places, but had not found any. Will look under Construction Spanners then... Are they really called podgers or is that a slang name?
gareth
PThanks - I had checked there, and all the usual places, but had not found any. Will look under Construction Spanners then... Are they really called podgers or is that a slang name?I don't know what their technically-correct name is - although I suppose 'construction spanner' is as good a name as any! Podger is a 'slang' name for them, based on the function of the pointy bit at the other end (lining up the bolt holes in connecting bits of steelwork). Rob
We're getting a bit OT, but the Screwfix "Construction Spanners" are un-suprisingly rubbish. The spikes are too big to line up M10 holes deeper than about 10mm. You get what you pay for!
Modge
The Stanley shop in Selly-Oak Birmingham sells 'um. Whether there's any sort of online ording possible (stanely being a hudge company) I couldn't tell you. It's opposite sainsburries(sp?) for the benefit of anyone based in that neck of the woods. Seano
In Sheffield, there's a little tool shop in Meadowhall (big, soulless shopping mall), of all places, that stocks ratchet podgers. They carry the Laser ones, which are nice. details here:http://www.lasertools.co.uk/tools.aspx?cat=136 some stockists here:http://www.lasertools.co.uk/stockists.aspx I've also seen cheap & cheerful podgers in the enormous Govt. surplus places in Nottingham & Ripley:http://www.anchorsupplies.com/ Seanx
