Bryson
Hello all. I'm putting together a sound installation (that includes binaural reecordings of dancers, if you are interested) and I need to get some of those headphones with steel armoured cable like you see in HMV and Virgin. Problem is, I can't find a UK supplier. Anyone got any leads? Ta B
london sound
Sounds daft but have you tried contacting HMV's or Virgin's maintenance dept.?The cable is available separately cannot remember suppliers but I recall that the headphones are usually Sony. Canford may also be a source. Ian

bruce
The argos thing looks extremely inflexible, more like a gooseneck. he ones the OP is looking for are basically a "protected flex".
Chappie
Stonewood Audio can supply armoured/vandal resistant headphones. Contact them here.
Nick S
Canford may also be a source. That's what I thought - I'll swear I saw it in a previous edition, but looking through the 06-07 catalogue I can't for the life of me find it... I found a company called DBI that makes vandal proof headphones for public listening stations, with an cable armoured with steel (with a rubber coating). They look pretty much identical to the Canford DMH stuff but with additional armouring. No word on pricing or dealers - from Googling, it looks like public listening station dealers carry them, but I couldn't dig up any UK ones, or even comparable prices. Chappie
or even comparable prices. They cost roughly between £85-£125 + VAT, dependant on who you talk to.
Bryson
Canford apparently have stopped doing them. RS/Maplin/CPC all drew a blank. Stonewood look promising. Will keep y'all informed.
