paulears
Lovely pool scene in tonights episode - nice ripples all over the house fascade in the background - trouble is the ripple reflections were ten times brighter than the lights on the pool, and seemed to come from just behind a handy row of low bushes. Effect 10/10, realism 1/
Guest lightnix
My favourite EastEnders FX moment was a couple of years back when Pat and the late Roy were having a big domestic scene. Pat picked up two plates of dinner that were on the table and threw them at her husband, one after the other; he ducked and they hit the wall... ...and made exactly the same sound as each other :** laughs out loud **: ;) - Topic moved due to non-lighting nature of reply :) PS - By the way, has anybody ever noticed how when people use computers in TV / Filmland, they never hit the Enter key? :(
wycome5
In Big I think it is (with Tom Hanks), he is meant to be closing down a computer game but presses the same key again and again and a different action occours each time.
johnhuson
At the risk of sounding like a kill joy, but 99.95% of people watching won't of even noticed there are reflected ripples on the wall let alone the fact that they are not quite right, that's the joy of 'artisic licence'! It's all well and good us all sitting here and criticising, but if you were doing that sort of thing day in day out would you go to the effort of making it 100% artistically accurate? I'd hazard a guess that most of us wouldn't. However in a 'live' situation it's a lot different to my mind, the audience are more focused on the whole performance experience because they have come out with the specific intent to be watch a show and be entertained, whatever format that may be in. But with TV and even to a certain extent with Film, it's not such an encapsulating experience. Unless it's a really exciting program, then most people probably don't pay half as much attention to it as they would a live performance. That's my opinion anyway, feel free to disagree! paulears
I think my favorite repeated ####-up was the gobo of a window that was seen on the wall of the David Frost Sunday show when it was on most weeks it was on an angle that real light could never do! Jamtastic3
Another one you hear constantly on Eastenders, is when characters shut the main door of their house. Sometimes it sounds like the real thing but if a character doesn't actually enter the front door from off shot, they always add in a 'clanky' type door slam. It's repeated so often, it makes everyones door slams sound the same.
Guest lightnix
Phil & Grant really ought to get the tracking sorted out on that Merc of theirs, the tyres squeal every time it goes round the slightest corner, regardless of speed <_<
