Winamp & Timecode & Freestyler

Ok. I have my Enttec Open USB/DMX box and it and the Freestyler software makes my WWG Caterpillar spin around the sitting room wonderfully. Am I correct in thinking that I should be able to run cues in Freestyler from Winamp? Do I need Winamp Pro or is there a plug in that will work with Winamp 5.21?

 

Searches of here, Google, Winamp and www.FreeStylerdmx.be have failed to come up with an answer. Any pointers appreciated.

Have you tried the FreeStyler forum? To be honest, I don't remember any type of chase and lock when I looked at the app.

 

I did applets to lock us to Windows Media Player playlists and CDs and they turned out to be very simple. Daniel did a neat beat detection and time lock sample for WinAmp using a plug-in and I don't recall him spending too long on it either. So maybe the FreeStyler author just hasn't gotten around to it.

Dear All

 

This would appear to be the answer:

Select Cue Window in FS

Select Winamp On

Two columns appear in the right hand side of the Cue Window

In the first of these enter the track number from the Winamp playlist

In the second enter the cue point in seconds

(That is 5 NOT 00:00:05. Similarly, one minute and five seconds is 65 not 00:01:05. You might expect it to be in the latter format as this is the format for the PC generated time code...but it isn't!!!)

You can also enter the timecode by clicking the Winamp on button at the appropriate point as the track is playing.
