obsoperator
Although our current show is not such a long run, the designer would prefer to have the cue fully programmed, without manual intervention. He wants a three-circuit "marquee" chase to increase in speed. (Synchronisation with audio tempo is not involved.) This can be done on the ETC Obsession I or II with the [Rate] button and then the Rate Wheel. But it's a manual change. Assume that an effect is being played back with the Go button, and the designer wants the speed of the Effect to increase from the initial speed to some final speed, always in the same length of time. How can this be accomplished without manual operator intervention? The [Rate] button can be entered in a Macro, but there is no way to "move" the rate wheel with a macro, is there? I've tried successive Follow cues with the same Effect at different rates (and with copies of the effect at different step times), but the Follow times have to be a multiple of the sum of the step times, so that the effect doesn't "stutter" when the next cue runs. And this result is not as good as moving the [Rate] wheel with your hand. Thanks for any suggestions. Timothy H.
