Light Console
Um, I think you will struggle to find anything on the internet about them. Furse now make lightning conductors and earth rods! Looking at the picture, you have a pair of 12 way groundrows, either for footlighting, or for lighting the bottom area of a cyc. As there are 4 colours, I would guess that there will be or should be 4 circuits, and therefore plugs and possibly sockets to match. They have a name, and I am now off to attack my lighting library...apparently they are called "Cylo" but I am not convinced!Oh, and Welcome to the Blue Room! Ynot
Hi Ive got hold of 2 12 way lighting units.Hi there, and welcome. What you have is a couple of groundrows, or overhead battens (depending on what ironwork came with them). There's nothing at all complex about them, as they're about as simple as they come in the lighting world. Units like these were usually wired in groups of 3 or 4, with the internal cabling linked to every 3rd or 4th compartment, and either hardwired to circuits on stage, or wired out to stage plugs - one per circuit. They'll likely take GES tungsten flood bulbs - unlikely to be more than 300w, but MAY cope with 500W bubbles. What exactly are you needing to find out about them? CheersTD
djburnage
To be honest all I want to know is a full spec and a website if possibleCheers for any help <_<
paulears
Furse, not Furze - don't do anything in theatre lighting anymore - that is why you can't find a web site. The net wasn't invented when they made theatre lighting! This means of course, no pdfs, no images etc. I have to add, that they were very much a budget basic range when they were doing lighting - basically, if Strand was too much, you bought Furse. paul
dfinn
Hi, ** laughs out loud ** weve got some old Furse Fresnels from our old install. We also had some of those baton flood type lights, werent exactly the same as those, dont think they had a name on. The had 9 lamps in each I think, 3 on each circuit, they were pretty pants as I think whoever did an upgrade put domestic 100w lamps in them, ah well, I think they were skipped when we had the refit. Thanks, Daniel

dbuckley
A hall very local to me has some Furse Pat. 23 clones, which if I remember correctly are made of sheet metal, rather than the solid construction of the real thing...
AaronHorn
Give CCD Lighting a ring (formally Furse), they still have data on old products I think... We did have some of these when I was at school - along with lots of spare lamps but I don't know if these exist anymore.
