nopEda
Hi, I'm new to fixing Martin lights. In fact so far I'm so new to it that I haven't fixed one yet. We have a 600 that shows a 'feedback error tilt' message. I've shecked the limit switch from the circuit board, and with the fixture resting with the switch closed I get continuity, and do not when the switch is open, so I guess the switch is good. Could a bad motor cause a feedback error message? Or if the motors are out of sync? Could it be the driver chip for the motors? I've thought about swapping the pan and tilt drivers to see if theproblem moves to pan... Thanks for any suggestions!David
jayselway
If it is a feedback error, check the feedback sensor in the arm. You said you have checked the switch - check the tacho wheel also - it is a toothed wheel in the arm, close to a motor, which passes through an optical sensor. If the wheel has a tooth, or teeth, missing, then it can create a feedback error. Also, a defective sensor can create this problem. Because the sensors are optical, they rely on a clear path between emitter and sensor, which can be blocked by dust and dirt. Couple of pointers there... and so 2p goes in the pot
