Hey Dean,

You need to provide more information - like what the install bars are like, dimming and control capabilities? remember none of these guys know what our school hall looks like.

Also what kind of bands are they, what moods do they need, stage layout, etc etc

Sorry to be so negative on your 2nd post mate.

Thanks,

Daniel

I suggest a quick read of this thread, as there is loads of ideas in there. Plus, please remember that using the Search facility we have built into the forum would give you similar results from our 3yr old archive.

We also have a state of the arch studio

I presume you mean state of the art? Please remember to spell check and proof read your posts! :mods:

Basically:

The hall has two FOH LX bars, one about 4m from Proc arch, the other about 8m, each with 10 plugs (15a).

two vertical side bars each with 6 plugs at same distance as front FOH roof bar

we have 3 bars on stage each with 8 Plugs, the 3 bars are spaced with one right at front, one right at back and one slightly infront of the back bar.

there are 6 floor plugs on the back of the proc arch wall again (15a)

Switching - 6 ch non dim panel (15a plugs), 24 channels of dimming with 2 plugs per channel (48 plugs max) DMX lines on stage front bar and 2 FOH bars run from a DMX splitter.

Control is as said before - a fat frog.

the studio space is just a trilite rig is a rectange shape with 5x 10 plug bars evenly spread along the rig clamped on it. Each one has a DMX line to it.

All lanterns are 500w lamps - pars are narrow beams, fresnels are selecon acclaims which now I think about it are 650w. we have 4 MAD ITM 250 discharge colour changers.

Thanks,

Daniel

Welcome to the Blue Room, coops.

Before posting a lighting question on the Blue Room, it's a good idea to have a look at our Lighting FAQ. Quite often, you'll find the answers you need, or at least some sort of a clue, in there. In this instance, you need to look at the last section of the FAQ itself (just before the 'useful links' post) - there are links to several threads on the BR covering lighting for bands, which is exactly what you need to know on this occasion. Also, we have a search function (top-right of every page), which gives you keyword-search access to the whole Blue Room archive (all three years' worth of it!) - it's always advisable to use that before asking a question, as the chances are it's been covered before. You might find the answer you need - and if not, chances are you'll find a relevant topic into which to post your question.

Follow those links in the 'band lighting' section of the FAQ, have a read through what's already been posted in the topics. If you've got any questions after that, the best place to post them would probably be into one of the existing topics - whichever one seems the most suitable for whatever the question is. In the unlikely event that you need to ask something about band lighting which doesn't fit into any of them, then by all means post it here.

You might also find this useful.

Good luck.

:mods: - topic title changed to something a bit less vague.
