Green Image

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Looking for a bit of advice....

Just fitted a new lamp in a Mitsubishi X390 projector, and when projecting black / dark images, the output appears green.

Any ideas what causes this? Simply something to clean inside? Or may need a replacement part?

Thanks

Jamie

Are there any light sources in the room?

Flourescents tend to add a green cast to everything, especially when compared to the high colour temp white light of the discharge lamp used in projectors.

Otherwise, try resetting the colour settings back to the factory default.

It's fairly likely that someone has altered them to correct for the old lamp, which will of course be wrong for the new one.

I'm assuming you've let the lamp warm up (5-10min)

I'd suggest adjusting the colour settings slightly to correct for it - usually dirt causes a dim or brownish image, rather than greenish.

Hi, Thanks again for your response.

Have tryed messing around with the colour settings, makes no difference to the green image. It seems it is probrably some part of the LCD block that needs replacing.

Any ideas of a local (Birmingham area) company that will take a look at it without costing the earth? Obviously don't want to spend £100 for someone to tell me it's beyond repair! :)

Thanks

Jamie

Thanks for the replys so far.

I have spent time adjusting the settings but am still getting green when it should be black <_<

Anybody got any other suggestions I could try?

Thanks

Is it a three panel jobbie, if so could the dichroic prism got shifted when you changed the bulb?
