tivoliproduction
I currently have a dozen strand p23's in stock in my theatreand was thinking whether it was worth keeping lighting equipment that I dont actually use anymore. would it be worth selling them on and ploughing the money back into buying some newer equipment? I know they do a great job but I think it is time to move on the newer things. my current rig consists of the following: 4 etc source 4 zoom (15/30)24 par 644 cantata fresnel4 berkey fresnelselecon cyc floodscct sils (which are hopefully going soon aswell. I would love to get some more fresnels and some more source 4's anyone any suggestions? would I get much for a dozen p23's with lamps? (fairly good condition) :)
Ynot
I currently have a dozen strand p23's in stock in my theatreand was thinking whether it was worth keeping would I get much for a dozen p23's with lamps? (fairly good condition)Only last week I sold 8 plus 1 for spares on Ebay, along with 4 patt 123's and a couple of 243's. The 9 p23's fetched just over a hundred, with the 4 p123's around £125. Had I split them into smaller lots I suspect I may have gotten more - there was a LOT of interest in them.Mine were converted from 500w tungsten to 650w halogen bubbles - are yours? paulears
If you need the money, then sell them - however, if you sell lots to buy one or two new ones, then I suspect this is a bad idea. Things like 23's are basic and unless they've been upgraded are a bit dim - BUT they are a great way of throwing light at the stage, won't fall to pieces and 10 of them produce better looking lighting than a couple of brand new wizzbangs. I have pile of 23s, 223s and 1K and 2K 243s literally a pile! Hidden from the venue owner as he is a serious skip person - I lost a dozen I left at stage level (because they were a bit rusty!) and I'm determined to keep the rest - they always come in handy! mac500
And if they havent got half a ton of dust etc in them they perform well.
