XLR Splitters

Hi All

I need to split a few mic lines to run 2 differant desk. One for FOH & Mons, one for recording off.

Is there a correct way to split the signal??

Or is it just a case of using Y splits?

What happens to the impedance/level of the signal?

What if I want to use phantom??

So many questions.....arghhhh!!!

Cheers

As discussed before

And here as well

Summaried, Y splits often work, make sure all desks are on the same mains earth, level is pretty much no different to using one console, most desks dont mind phanton being injected into them but if it's a problem then lift all the pin 1's on the monitor desk end and as well as preventing any ground loops phantom will not get through.
