paulpa66
do these sections just push together or do I need to buy something to connect them? also can this be bought in 1.5m sections
emsgeorge
They have joiners (bit of smaller tube) which fits inside the ends. You push the ends together. They usually are fixed with bolts and nutlock nuts. Never seen them with wingnuts though. But wouldnt it make life easier !

Chris Beesley
Hi there, Most people prefer to use good old Nuts & Bolts (Nyloc) - if the truss is being rigged/derigged often you could use the quick release clips ... the clips shown on the link are for the NJD truss, I would recommend consulting your supplier to ensure you get the clips designed for your truss. soundo26
do these sections just push together or do I need to buy something to connect them? also can this be bought in 1.5m sections when you use nuts & bolts to join this stuff, make sure you don't overtighten them as the round cross section will misshape and you'll have a problem pulling it apart again. Also use smaller nuts/bolts on the end sections, these are the ones that stop the span from sagging cos you can't tighten the others too much. Stutwo
if the truss is being rigged/derigged often you could use the quick release clips Careful though. the clips are fine if the truss is vertical, but if it's being used horizontally then the clips aren't a tight enough fit and the joints sag. emsgeorge
Sorry ! I meant Nyloc nuts. Must be the tiredness setting in!!. re: squashing the truss by overtightening it Been there and done that ! Doh !. Was a costly mistake.
zonino
Careful though. the clips are fine if the truss is vertical, but if it's being used horizontally then the clips aren't a tight enough fit and the joints sag. you can usually get away with a single horizontal quickclip truss join if you don't put mac 250's in the middle or similar

chrisdavies
if your looking for a suplier for trilite, I got most of mine from stage electrics. I personally dont have any 1.5m lengths, but I'm pretty sure they were selling them a few years ago. are looking to use wind up stands with it? if so make sure you dont use too great a length off truss, as it does have a tendency to buckle at key structure points after about 12/15m. again SE can probably advise you on the best way to go. hope this helps -chris-
tompw
I am pretty sure that TriLite only supply interger lengths above 1m - if you want anythign in between, you get charged the next metre up. So, 1.5m lengths would cost the same as 2m lengths.
Rich newby
This is the stuff that thomann sell and it does come in 1.5m sections. Pretty cheap too. Rich
