  1. Hey Folks! I'm looking at using some birdies but just a little stuck on power for them. I've bought the main unit and it is the 12/24v version with the GU5.3 socket. As this is a common fitting I have bought some standard LED lamps off Amazon and it was interesting to just find out that they are 12v AC rather than what I assumed to be DC. So, either - what transformers do people normally use to power these? - or - what lamps are available and people use? Ideally I would like to operate as LED on 12v DC as I have a leisure battery powering the system I am using... Also, what would you guys suggest for a dimmer? Thanks 🙂
  2. Thanks for your help so far! I get slightly wary of the really cheap mics having used a customers set recently and the difference between them and the t.bone ones was night and day. I may order one of each type and see what the difference is like. It would be good to know if the 4pin is still compatable with a 3pin beltpack - that could open up more options if so, but I have been working under the assumtion that they are different connections so wont fit... I will check out everything mentioned and see what may work for us 🙂 Thanks!
  3. Hi all, Hoping somone can point me in a direction... The company I work for use mini-lav mics with a 3pin mini XLR and I cann't seem to find any that are in stock at the right price point for us. We normally have the t.bone stuff from the usually very well stocked German warehouse ( https://www.thomann.de/gb/the_t.bone_bodymike_tan_akg.htm ) but the long lead time currently stated on the website puts it after our event that we are just about to start... It's a little bit my fault for not having spares, but on the filp side, I did have spares and then the mic requirements changed and I didn't get additional budget to compensate.... SO, I am wondering where do people normally go for this type of mic? I've been ordering thomann for so long that I have no idea where sells a comparable product. Unfortunately, as a company we are not yet able to justify the sort of prices that come with the brands like Sennheiser/SHURE/DPA... as much as I would like to! - Secondary question: Have mic prices always been that high on the brands? I am seeing £300-400+ for just the mic & cable.... Let me know what options are out there! Thanks in advance 🙂
  4. Basically, there is a slight disagreement here on how many towers we think we will need. One opinion is 2, the other is 4 or 5... The car park will be in the middle of a field on temporary matting and there will be car park stewards. There will be approx 250-300 cars on site at peak. The question is... what is the acceptable light level for safety of the public walking from their cars to the bus (park & ride type setup)? - from this we can work out how many towers are required based on the tower specs. In a way the money is irrelevant - if it works out we need, let say 10 towers, then we need 10 towers... we need to find out how many are needed first, and then work backwards to get the best value... we already have a couple of our own and we will find the most cost effective way of sourcing the rest whether that is to hire or buy outright. It would be helpful if I am able to quote H&S guidance/legislation and use a light meter to gauge compliance.
  5. Hi all ! The company I work for are needing lighting towers for our events in Nov/Dec. They will be used for public areas, primarily on a temporary car park. I am looking for advice and pointing towards regulations/H&S regarding the required illumination of an area where we will have public in the event - so that we can work out how many lighting towers we need. Does anyone have any recommendations for a light meter so that we can check that we have sufficient light? Thanks in advance :)
  6. Ahh... I wonder if its no longer manufactured ? Unfortunately, if I do get some more it will be to add to it to enable me to use the bits I currently can't use - so a swap wouldn't be an option, sorry.
  7. Not checked back here until now, but I have still been searching... with no joy finding this stuff at all! Do you have any idea of manufacturer or supplier of the stuff you have? Primarily I want to identify what this racking is, but if there is anyone with bits that are compatible that they want to part with then I would be interested....
  8. Thanks, I will send them a message ! They are only about 10-15 miles away from us so if they can help that's even better
  9. Hi Guys, I hope I have put this in the right place in the forum, apologies if not! I need some help. The company I work for has just acquired some warehouse racking from auction and I am trying to see if I can find some more/parts for it, I just cannot seem to see through the standard pallet racking and BigDug stuff when I do a google search. It seems unusual in that the slots for the cross-beams to go into are on the rear of the uprights as opposed to on the front like most racking... (as seen if you look in the bottom left corner of the below image) Does anybody recognise this racking and know the manufacturer or where to get it ? (Image pulled from auction site) Thanks Guys!
