The commentator isn't on a float (thankfully), it's the progression of the parade that means we need different things said in different places.
I know he wears a headset for some other things but handhelds are what's been specifically requested for this. Plus there's less chance of his backchat getting heard by the crowd!
If the RF side is fine (no horrible by-products of having the two transmitters so close together) then I think we're onto a winner.
Personally I would avoid RF and look at a wired solution, especially if the comentator is speaking from one location and not moving about!

I have just had this same problem! Ordered a few cable side C15A from Ian Dennis last year but he has run out now. Seems to be that leads direct are one of the few suppliers at the moment.
Placed an order for a few of these: https://www.leadsdirect.co.uk/shop/iec-c15a-socket-rewireable/
Thanks, I will give them a try!

Strand and CCT are different as far as I know. Strand have a square sided lump which is a IEC C16A on the lantern and a C15A on the cable. CCT I recall as using a slightly different shape.
Hi Jon
The C16A is the correct type, but sadly RS no longer list the matching cable sockets!
Kind regards
Neil

Hi Fellow technicians
I am trying to source without much luck half a dozen Hot Condition IEC Cable sockets. These need to be the type with the notch the top rather than the sloping sides. These are needed to fit old Strand Cadenza or CCT starlette lanterns. They used to be made by Schurter.
I am also looking for a Strand T-Spot Focus knob.
Any Assistance gratefully received.
Kind Regards
Neil

James I know you feel the CiO box is pricey, but it will do exactly what you want, interfacing effortlessly with all comms systems I know. If you are freelance speak to Dave Humphries at Interspace Inustries (Hive), as he gives an extra freelance discount and is a very nice chap to boot. The difference this little box has made to my daily life was worth the extra cost
I think you could spend a lot of time and energy and not end up with an interface that is as hassle free as the CiO....Just my 10p worth !! Happy Christmas

I regularly use the CiO box, and whilst it is expensive, it works perfectly, and is always connected to the pfl circuit of any desk I’m operating.
I can monitor any desk channel whilst still receiving cues.
