  1. I operate lights at a local venue with some old Imove 250 and 575 moving heads which are failing.

I'm looking at possible new replacements for £1000ish each

The Cameo Aura z300 looks ok and is in budget

It is a bit obscure - brand wise, we get visiting lighting engineers who bring big lighting desks and

floor packages so it would be good to improve the work flow with lights that are already in their control desks.

I have had good results with Cameo led par ligts

any suggestions regarding other fixtures or perhaps a used option?

  2. Is telling you guys about the live bands stream we're doing on Sunday from 5pm ok?

Northampton's freelance production staff (lighting, sound and video engineers)

who do gigs at the local concert halls and elsewhere are bored and need

to exercise their skills and hopefully crowd fund a days wadges.

So we're getting together for a proper multicam HD

broadcast on a big stage and a small side stage with 10 bands and solo artists.

This Sunday eve from 5pm on youtube

  3. In my experience cat5/6 for video is too unreliable - I've been let down too many times.

So I got some hdmi/sdi converters and a 35m 6 way hdsdi multi - it's big and heavy but always works.

I use it for IMAG camera to LED screens

  4. I do this a fair bit, we just installed a relay screen system like this for

a concert hall in Northampton with 1 camera, 3 lcd screens

and 1 projector across 3 rooms.

Transmission is via HDsdi (for low latency, quality and long distance)

with hdsdi to hdmi adapters for each screen.

The camera is a cheap outdoor hdsdi security camera for about £100

Camera cost would be from £100 to over £50,000 it's entirely up to budget.

Given your brief, I think you need at least full HD and spend a fair bit more than £100.

The quality of the camera will have a great deal of effect on screen image quality.

The most important question is what's your budget 100's or 1000's? (pm if you want)

  5. We have a Martin Rush Multibeam 2 that has stopped

moving, the lights flash and change colour as they should.

There's motor noise when it's on sound to light

    and I tap the case.

    Both light bars don't move.

I took off the top and bottom covers, the belts

and motors are were they should be.

    The menu works.

    Any thoughts?

    Thx.

  6. Hi,

Anyone know where I can get spare parts for a Yiscor Beam 200 (bad sharpy copy)

I need some colour wheels and shutters

Failing that some new dichroic colour filters so I can fix the colour wheels.

    Thanks

  7. Maybe it's the colour-space.

Domestic TV's accept RGB and pro kit like the G7000 accept CMYK, some windows graphics drivers such as Nvidia have the option the change the colour space.

Failing that, perhaps it's the EDID that's causing the issue, an EDID emulator such as a parrot fixes that.

The Epson projector may have settings for all this, check the manual 1st.

  8. We do this professionally for all sorts of shows across the UK

    We usually use the following:

3 camera crew with Broadcast HD cameras

    altec wireless talkback

    3 HD ptz cameras

    black magic HD vision mixer

    HD recorder

midas audio desk and audience mics

    back up data satellite connection

    pay per view option

    That about covers it

It comes down to how much the client wants to spend, if its nothing then it's defiantly webcam at best.

There are also live streaming copyright issues to consider. utube will stop the streaming of copyrighted music.
