  1. Summer Screens Open Air Cinema is looking for production engineers to work on a fixed term contract basis until the end of September.

     

    The Production Engineer will:

     

    • Prepare and check equipment for the event at the company warehouse
    • On site delivery of the technical event production of Summer Screens events to include AV, sound, lighting and power distribution
    • Ensure the event is delivered to the highest possible standards
    • Assisting with rigging and de-rigging of events
    • On-site implementation of all H&S requirements, safely following the company Risk Assessments and Method Statements
    • Work closely with the Event Manager and other colleagues to deliver the best experience possible for the audience
    • Carry out site visits where necessary

    Desired skills:

     

    • Proven experience within live event production, with broad knowledge across all areas of technical production including AV, lighting, sound and power distribution
    • Experience managing and implementing H&S policies in a live event environment
    • Calm in a crisis, flexible and adaptable, pro-active with excellent interpersonal skills
    • A motivated team player with a commitment to quality and professionalism
    • A good communicator with an enthusiastic, positive, can-do attitude
    • Computer literate
    • Full UK driving license

    Initial fixed term contract July – September 2021.

     

    Based in Reading but due to the nature of the work you will also be required to travel to events around the country and occasionally stay away.

     

    £26,100 – £36,540 (pro rata) based on experience, average 4 day week.

     

    28 days holiday.

     

    Freelance/self-employed contractors are welcome as well as employees currently on furlough.

Alongside the established cinema business, the company is expanding its event portfolio into other sectors within the experience economy and with this in mind, Summer Screens is currently looking to recruit Production Engineers to join the team.

You will work closely with the Event Manager and colleagues to deliver the event to the highest possible standards and offering a fantastic experience for the audience.

Alongside the established cinema business, the company is also aiming to expand its event portfolio into other sectors within the experience economy and with this in mind, Summer Screens is currently looking to recruit a Technical Production Manager to join the team at this exciting time

     

    The Role

     

    With a background and knowledge across all areas of production, the Technical Production Manager will be responsible for technical production across all our cinema events to ensure delivery to the highest possible standards.

     

    The successful candidate will be managing the onsite delivery of events and any additional technical crew, working closely with the front of house team and other colleagues. You will also have excellent industry contacts and will be responsible for organising and booking freelance crew or subcontractors, taking responsibility for multiple events at one time.

     

    You will also have the opportunity to join the project team as the company expands into different areas of the Experience Economy, drawing on your creativity and entrepreneurial instincts, providing practical working solutions to creative ideas, to turn vision into reality.

     

    The successful Technical Production Manager will:

    • Take the lead for all technical event production, from concept through to delivery
    • Work within the project team, to deliver practical working solutions to creative ideas, turn vision into reality
    • Managing and selecting suppliers, making contractor selection, managing and booking freelance crew
    • Overseeing the company equipment stock, researching and advising on purchases
    • Onsite management of events to ensure delivery to the highest possible standards
    • Assisting with rigging and de-rigging of events
    • Managing H&S requirements including assessing work activities, creation of documentation and on-site implementation
    • Liaise with venues and stakeholders
    • Carry out site visits where necessary

    The Technical Production Manager will be initially employed based on a 4-day week (80%) which will be reviewed quarterly.

     

    Good work/life balance and guaranteed weekends off

     

    £31,320 - £36,540 + bonus (pro rata) based on experience

     

    OTE up to £43,848 (pro rata)

     

    25 days holiday + National Holidays (pro rata)

     

    Company share option available for the right individual long-term.
