did anyone get anywhere with contact info for Turbo products? The main kidderminster number returns a 'number not in use tone'.

I was part of the sales team in the Uk until last month

Uli has gotten rid of all customer facing staff in the UK now. Care is a joke with minimal staff now and only interaction via the community page. Everything is now moving to Malaysia.

If you had an account with Eufill you can still purchase via them for now. Uli’s plan is to sell everything via Amazon and large E-commerce platforms only (Thomann mainly)

    Good luck

  2. Some of us were paying attention last year when the contract had to be tendered under EU rules if there weren’t to be a gap in supply. It’s a key reason we had to Leave to be able to use British suppliers for British government purchases in future!
  3. He was very much of the opinion the Turbosound rig was much stronger than the spec indicated - which is good when people abuse them!

TBH it is.... the problem is that due to the the fact we had Paul Bauman (Ex JBL) who bought the design in house..... it's just seen as a VRX copy, which it isn't. It's a Clair Bros design in essence

  4. We've got a thriving wind farm industry where I live and we have a couple of specialist fabrication companies who make all kinds of one-offs for the projects offshore. I sent some photographs and a dimensioned drawing of the array frames, asking if they'd be able to give me a price to make a couple up, but emphasising they'd need to be tested and certificated to keep the venues they'd be used in happy. They asked what weight, and he was a tad confused about the design of the official frame that has detachable side tubes. A 10mm thickness centre spin with short pin fixed square tube to the drop position. The JBL deployment specs were quite generous compared to the Turbosund specs, which he found were much more modest in stated capacity which the materials easily coped with at a high safety factor. JVC had a larger quantity of boxes able to be lifted on a virtually identical frame.

Turbosound have a WLL of 100Kg, while JBL are happy with almost half again. Both ratings are well below the limits of the material - with considerable derating. The fabricator asked what load limit I was thinking of, test wise. My load is 88Kg, or 112Kg with an extra box - he offered to make me a frame, label it and print me a load certificate, like they do for the offshore industry for ......... £50. The only thing I have to do is paint it, as it will be steel, and need protection.

Cheers for the information Paul...... Good to know this!

  5. damn! They're cheaper than the JBLs I got a good deal on too! I totally missed the turbo sound offering - but for more, I'll look at those. They seem to have two HF drivers, not three? I like those angle plates - really neat design.

Indeed.... plus a 10 year warranty on Turbo ;o)

Yes 2 x HF and the Dendretic Waveguide....

See you're in Lowestoft... Richard at Sound4Pro Audio in Ipswich has a full Berlin rig if you ever want a listen

  6. David, read my signature. I'm not on that division.... So no.

Gotcha. Unfortunately, one of the many limitations of this forum software is that when someone views on a mobile device the signatures are omitted. So, what's posted there is news to me.

    No worries....

  7. Ahh you just have to read it fella

Back in the day, KT were of course an industry standard in signal processing... ...but they never made amplifiers.

KT which is part of the MusicTribe have now produced amp's since back in the day..... they also now produce a whole lot of other new products since back in the day.

Read my post again.... I said 'have now'.

Now back in the day, when the grey matter was a little sharper, perhaps this would not be so confusssing...

  8. Read my post again.... I said 'have now'.

Re the warranty..... any piece of equipment can go down mid gig..... no matter who the manufacturer. Probably best that you have a plan B

Re the warranty. The specs are correct.... 120db for that sub. I wouldn't be using it as a dedicated sub as it's really designed as part of a small system with the satellites in that range.... it's pretty limited in on it's own.

    Tony

KT which is part of the MusicTribe have now produced amp's since back in the day..... they also now produce a whole lot of other new products since back in the day. Along with their proprietary Processing, DSP and Outboard products.

Also not compared, but if your specs are correct like for like comparisons, surely the box that plays a massive 9dB louder wins hands down?

FWIW, I'm not sure what "Klark Teknik amps" actually means.

Back in the day, KT were of course an industry standard in signal processing, with the DN-360 and DN-410 being iconic products that you'd see everywhere, but they never made amplifiers.

I've nothing against the Music Group, but in this context, wonder if "KT amps" is no more than applying a brand name to a box, where there is no heritage (no pun intended).

I'm very happy to be corrected on this one, but I have to agree with Tony - Klark Teknik never produced power amplifiers to the best of my knowledge. Midas did, back in the dim and distant past, but KT never did.

As regards the 10 year warranty - that's all well and good, but I for one would rather have no need for it, when something goes down just before or mid gig the best warranty in the world is not much help!

I very much doubt that the turbo specs are correct, being identical one or other has to be wrong - but 9 db is a BIG old difference....

  10. they dont know the answer, apparently. When I say Behringer, I mean musictribe of course, but I can't really keep up with their name changes

did you send the email though? If so it would be logged into the system and you should get an answer

  11. Send a message to Care@musictribe.com who should come back with an answer for you.

Does anyone know the drop dimension on the Tannoy VX12 and VX15 cabs when used with either the vertical or horizontal yoke brackets?

My client has rang Behringer who don't seem to know. It's not on the technical documents in Tannoy's respository.

    Let's keep in touch! dry.gif

  12. Are Behringer products excluded from that support? I was under the impression that at least the X32 family were supported from Kidderminster.

Good question. I was wondering the same thing...

The top line of the info posted states its for the ENTERPRISE Division and then lists the products associated with that division. These are the products supported.

Behringer is also handled by care but those products are considered as consumer/Mi products rather than Professional and carry a different warranty programme (3 years I believe)

The reason for posting the info is for those using ENTERPRISE products

    Thanks

  13. Is this an advert I see before me ??

I'm not advertising anything other than the contact details for the CARE (spares/service) department for Music Tribe Brands. I'm sure some of you own/install Turbosound,Tannoy,Lab Gruppen, Lake, Midas, Klark Teknik, TC Electronics kit.

There has been some updates to the contact info and thats the reason for posting.

If it's breaking forum rules then please take it down.
