  1. I have a pair of these that I am looking to sell, or exchange. These are in very good cosmetic condition and not the scabby pair currently on ebay. I am looking for a pair of 12" subs and happy to do a deal, or otherwise sell for £250 the pair. I am in Southampton and happy to drive upto an hour to facilitate a deal.
  2. I use these for adding weight to speaker stands. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Neewer-Photography-Saddlebag-Backyard-Transparent-4-Basic-Black-Kit/dp/B07XCP8XJQ?ref_=ast_sto_dp
  3. I do remember a gig at a London venue where we were invited to rummage in some kitchen cupboards. We found 2 pot noodles and a litre of Polish vodka. Luckily I wasnt driving. 🙂
  4. Another vote for E Foam. If you go for the Plastazote closed cell foam, they will cut it to size. https://www.efoam.co.uk/closed-cell-polyethylene-foam.php
  5. I use 16A (2.5mm) cables for the run and use a 13A-16A adaptor at ther front. Only 25cm cable, so no significant volt drop. A 16A - 6x13 at the other end sorts out socketry. I also have similar adaptors for 32A cables if a really long run is needed.
  6. Look at places that sell used office furniture. I recently bought some great mesh back chairs for £250 each. About a 1/3 of the new cost.
  7. I remember many years ago, a local EHO objected to my application for an outdoors laser show. His prime "worry" was it might be dangerous to aircraft (a reasonable assumption). I asked how he qualified his response and what actual dangers he thought the laser posed; and he couldnt provide any answers, but still didnt want to give permission. Luckily, I had already contacted the CAA (as required for outdoor shows) and had their permission granted. I showed their letter to the EHO and said if the CAA say yes and they know a lot more about lasers and aircraft then you do, whats your reason for saying no? He begrudgingly said yes.😀
  8. At Sellafield, I had to learn 7 different alarms. "If you hear the one that like a cross between an air raid siren and a U boat dive alram, then I suggest running really fast. Keep running, dont stop, then run some more". 😨
  9. In certain parts of the country, the local McDonalds getting hit by a rogue meteorite would be classsed as a disaster. 🙂
  10. What about using a "silk flame light"? A couple of those side by side might work, although they arent cheap but can probably be hired.
  11. Does the stage have a weight limit? 200 kids is a fair weight.
  12. Having used both in a club environment, I havent noticed glowing haze. Although sometimes I wish it would react to UV, it could be a lot of fun.
  13. Maybe build the fake nail gun around a compressed air blower. These emit a good "puff" of air then the trigger is pulled. and are quite cheap. Putting a 90 degree elbow on the end to divert the air shouldnt be difficult. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Professional-Adjustable-Extension-Pneumatic-Compressor/dp/B07RT4DYT6
  14. I agree the 4 foot flourescents are good. If you go that route, I would recommend one of the metal fixtures with built in reflectors.
