EVERRIGHTEN BR-15 Panels

I do volunteer work for a stage and have the opportunity to get a 100 EVERRIGHTEN BR-15 Panels, but I'm concerned about the power needed for these before I even think about pixel mapping. The back panel says the input is 110v 12.6A and output is 4.3A.. Our stage does not have access to nothing more than a 200 amp breaker panel. So, do these panels need some sort of dedicated commercial power setup? Thanks.

That's a big question... you need to think about power (yes - 100 panels will almost certainly want more than a 200A 110V supply, just for itself), rigging (100 panels + rigging is coming up on 2 tons), and what you're going to control it with. It doesn't just come with an HDMI input ready to plug in a laptop.

 

Also question... you're aware it's 15mm pitch? That's quite low res - it's designed for the audience to be fairly far from the panels. Most people say 1 metre audience distance per 1mm pitch. So a 15mm pitch screen wants the audience to be no closer than 15m (American terminology - 50 feet) from the screen. Otherwise you see black lines between pixels.

 

Where are you buying it from? If it's ex-hire then it may well have had quite a tough life thus far. BR15 has been around for more than a decade.

 

My advice: If you're serious about making this investment, get somebody in who knows what they're talking about. You'll pay them less for their advice than you'll waste by messing this up.

They were purchased from an govt auction, very cheap. The investment would be more about wasting my time, ** laughs out loud **.

 

The plugs in the back appear to be RJ45 so I was hoping to be able to test them with a pixel mapping software.

BR15 is relatively power hungry at 300w a panel, so about 3a per panel @ 110v

 

When you talk about "pixel mapping" them, I assume you mean playing video into them via the LED processor? Is it the OG Everbrighten processor, or Brompton? You cant just plug in to the RJ45 on the back
