Sennheiser G3 - accupack BA 2015

Hi guys!

I am a bit confused with my Sennheiser SKM G3 microphone. I've just bought BA-2015 accupack to get rid of regular AA batteries. As you can imagine it worked fine with normal AA's. But it doesn't work with BA 2015 (or any other accus). BA 2015 are OK since I tested them with ew 300 IEM g3 beltpack. Am I missing something? Is there some hidden function to enable? Or is this mic broken in a very strange way....

Not familiar with settings to change the battery type on the G3’s

I use standard rechargeable AA batteries and never had an issue, never seen the point of the BA2015 batteries as they look like bits of plastic with 2 standard AA’s in them but 10x the cost.

I’d check your mic terminals and make sure they are not damaged at all.

There aren't any battery type settings. The BA2015 should just work it's possible it's just faulty and failing to hold charge.

I've never seen the point vs using Ansmann cells at 1/10th of the cost. The cost just to be able to charge the pack using the contacts on the bottom with the also stupidly expensive Sennheiser charger is just obscene.

I had similar issue, but I was using Synergy Digital version of the BA2015. The issue I faced was that the +ve terminal of the BA2015 wasn't touching the +ve metal tab on the SKM's battery compartment. So I broke off the plastic case of BA2015 and removed only the +ve side plastic to remove the spacing. After that, I inserted it into the SKM and works fine. It turns out the Sennheiser BA2015 is basically a NTC 10K 3950 thermistor connected with the -ve terminal of a standard Panasonic rechargeable NIMH and to the middle metal contacts in the SK/SKM battery compartment. I just tested Panasonic Eneloops connected to the thermistor I extracted from the generic BA2015 battery pack and put it in my SK100 G3 bodypack. It charges just fine on Sennheiser L 2015 charging station.

I hope that helps.

Ok I figure it out. It looks like the regular batteries are a bit shorter than BA 2015 and other accus. Somehow the longer ones pushing too hard on the socket and in my case the socket wear out. I've written Sennheiser service and it is possible to replace the whole battery case inside SKM and it should fix it. Thanks for help everybody!
