Hi all,

I'm wondering if someone could provide photos of the internal components in one of these machines they own? I've just opened up the casing and would like to check whats original or been replaced. There is very little info online as to the design. Several photos from different angles would be great! rolleyes.gif

Cheers Matt

Come back to me when I can get at any of my stores and I can happily oblige.

In the meantime I'd suggest contacting Le Maitre directly, their support dept are very helpful.

This would be much appreciated! I may give Le Maitre a call once I know all the bits are correct.

These were an expensive machine to just throw away. Do you want to take a few pics of parts that make you suspicious, and then put them on here instead?

I'll dismantle the machine so I can get some photos uploaded shortly. The suspect parts to me would appear to be the air pump and ouput tube. I'll include pics of these.

They'll know better than us!

Bryson - I had a fussy one, sent it to Le Maitre for a full service and it's been happy since. I mean, I'd rather have another unique, but if you've got one you don't necessarily need to abandon hope.

Unfortunately, neither Las Vegas or Mitcham are easy to ship to from Western Canada, where I was! ;)

Back and forth for repairs over the USA/Canada border is a massive pain in the ass, as discovered by many US companies who decide they don't need a Canadian distributor...

The air pump looks about right, apart from the fact it should be attached to the case

The element looks wrong from memory, im sure it should be a straight long thing, the replacement comes in a cardbourd tube

I can photo mine on thursday if that helps

looks like an earlier version of the later 'XS' units, they also used a fishtank pump, and I agree they shouldn't be floating about, but the screws look like they were wrenched out at some point.

I know the later ones used a different heater triac and toroidal transformer, a little fluid bottle and a simple straight heater that can be rodded with a supplied tool through a little hole in the cover.

Otherwise I cant see anything to worry about.

The heater connections must be scrupulously clean and well made otherwise it will throw a tantrum.

It looks ok to me apart from the heater element (the model I have seen has the straight version of the element) but as has been pointed out yours may be an earlier version.

Have you fired it up? I spent several hours trying to find a fault on one and after discussions with LeMaitre replaced the fluid pump which did not seem to be working. The machine still did not produce haze however, just odd wisps of smoke when it was started. I then had the bright idea of substituting the fluid bottle with a bottle of proper LeMaitre haze fluid, after which the machine worked perfectly. I've no idea who had used it last but it seems they had topped up the bottle with ordinary smoke fluid......
