QLAB - for Audio and Projection

Hi All, really newbie here but wanted a few pointers in getting the best out of QLAB 4 and the easiest methods of control.

So this is for a very smal production on budget but I have Mac running QLAB4 with a AKAI Midi controller and a Main Cue list for everything Audio and Projection.

And it works as long as everything goes correctly but where I fail a little is when things goes out of sequence and I have to adlib a little. So what I really need is whilst to be able to trigger the projection events in sequence when the audio needs some changing not to then cancel the projections.

So I wondered should I try using a second instance of Qlabs running just the projections - this seems to me would just add further complexity or is there another way using a second cue list which would then allow me to continue all the time things are good but wont stopped if I need to change audio cues.

I hoping I'm making some sense - but really just want to avoid the projections being stopped when I have to stop all the audio cues for an error or timing issue.

Many thanks for readingHave a great dayRgdsNeale

I don’t have the answer to your question, but there is a hugely helpful Facebook group named QLab Users And Programmers which would be a very good place to ask. There are some useful posts there and lots of very clever people. I’ve learnt a lot from it and think I recall something similar being asked, so have a scroll back in the group’s history before asking.

Are you stopping the audio by pressing Escape?

If you either programmed a stop cue for each audio cue, or stopped the audio by selecting the running cue and pressing S to stop just that cue rather than Esc to kill all cues, you should be able to stop one audio cue without killing the projection.
