  1. I've seen something like this recently, which was a projector low down, projecting onto a big mirror at the back of the stage, reflecting onto the back of a screen to give about a 6m x 3m backdrop to the show. I think the total depth from the screen to the mirror was about 1.5m. It was on quite a deep stage and the result was ok for a backdrop.
  2. When the singer brings you an iphone and the tunes on youtube, in a marquee in the countryside. Bless them.
  3. The group I work with did a Robin Hood scene a few years and we used silly sound effects with the cast, in an exaggerated manner, watching the flight from side to side. It worked well after we managed to teach them their left from their right.
  4. Friend, recently checking poles on Salisbury plain, ended up about 4 miles from his van, walked the shortest route back through a village, forgot about the machete sticking out of his backpack, surrounded by armed police, full job, After full explanations and checks, he said at least they gave him a lift back to his van.
  5. I'm looking for a bulb for the call switch, £9.99 on the Granite website, I cant find anything similar, any ideas, thanks in advance.
  6. I have seen somewhere, when the Beatles infamously played the Shea Stadium they had a 1000w sound system, someone on here will tell me if this is true.
  7. Daughter was in Coventry last night and said the sound was fine, and they were in the cheap seats.
  8. We get on alright, until the s**t hits the fan, then we will find out.
  9. That may be an issue I hadn't thought of, thanks.
  10. No, it will work fine. The only problem you might have is if there are any mic channels in the same cable with the gain cranked really really high, you can sometimes hear the DMX then. You'd do yourself no harm to have a DMX terminator on hand, which you can plug into the last light in the chain. A terminator can sometimes prevent flickering on long lines. A terminator is nothing more than a resistor put across the two signal cores, usually soldered into an XLR plug. You can make some up yourself if you're that way inclined, but they're readily available on eBay and Amazon too. (Or you can just scrounge one from any passing lampy, they usually have one in their pocket) :P Thanks for the replys, I have a terminator already, it should save threading a DMX cable round all the seating if its ok to use his audio. Cheers.
  11. I'm doing a small show and want to use some DMX controlled effects on stage and the official tech has said he has a spare line in his audio snake I can use, it will be about 50m long will there be any issues. TIA.
