Giant can for Hairspray

Hi, we have our musical production of Hairspray coming up at the end of next week, and need a giant hairspray can prop.

Does anyone know if we can source one from anywhere local-ish - I know David Fitch Services have one bit it's too far.

Alternatively, does anyone know a quick/cheap way to make one?

Thanks,

Adam

I think you can get oildrum - sized cardboard storage drums from suppliers like slingsby or key industrial, Could provide a base to work on to make your own. 3D printer to make the aerosol nozzle, if you have access to the necessary equipment /skills.

I did Hairspray last summer and we got hold of this:

It's 8ft tall and 4ft wide, with opening doors and open at the back for Edna to get and on wheels.

You'd have to arrange your own transport (minimum 3.5t van!). Two men can JUST lift it...

Less distant, but still a haul from Slough, these guys have two cans plus the rest of the set. On the old Alconbury airfield where the A14 joins the A1.

You could make one in the time if you have the skills and equipment. However, I wonder if you've tried, hence the short time.
