  1. We haven't any info on why he has put fail stickers on, however metering (as opposed to a plug and play tester) seems to show a high (of the order of several Kohm) resistance path between earth and live. This is the same for both lanterns and makes me suspect there's something inherent in the design of the circuitry.
  2. Have been contacted by a venue operator whose gear has been tested by a domestic electrician, who has issued a fail for a pair of Strand Solo CSI followspots (22-526-00) Superficial examination and metering reveals no fault. Does the internal circuitry of a CSI unit make it likely that a basic plug and play test would show a fail even if in good order?

    Cinemoid

Thanks. Just managed to turn up a Furse (Fursine) sample swatch which includes their version, which looks very close to me (unlike the later attemps by various manufacturers.) Perfectly sensible point about the tungsten contribution to the perceived colour output. Intend to try an assortment of methods to see if I can come close. Some of the venue fixtures are RGBW, but the FOH all includes amber in the fixtre. so fingers crossed. Thanks for looking. Have just turned up a Furse (Fursine) swatch which includes their version... nearer than any of the later attempts to replicate the colour. Am going to try with that. If I'm unsuccessful I may well come back to you to borrow your swatch if I may. Thanks for looking.Cliff I have an ancient Cinemoid swatch which has 8 "Deep Salmon" on it if that's any use? No idea how old it is but has Rank Strand's address as Great West Road, Brentford, Middx, TW8 9HR but I would guess is mid to late 1970s.

    Cinemoid

Anyone got a scrap of Cinemoid (yes, Strand Cinemoid) colour 8 (that's the one with the fluorescent edging when you cut it) they could lend me. Want to try to scan or photograph it into an FLX desk to see if our LED rig can recreate it. (Various manufacturers have claimed to have replicated it in gel over the years, nut none have come near the old original Strand colour.)
  5. Great. Thanks. Your searching worked better than mine!
  6. Anyone out there happen to have the DMX parameters for ADJ Mega Tripar Profile Plus. We've got some on order (for use as tab warmers) but we urgently need to program the DMX blind before they arrive. Strangely though the operator's manual isn't available anywhere that I can find!
  7. Thanks... (Will doubtless be back to you if there are queries when the beast is finally installed in the venue!)
  8. Thanks. Will experiment. That could well be what I'm trying to achieve.
  9. Does anyone know if it is possible to make one of the MFF (faders) control the speed parameter of colour? (FLX-S48) Speed of fade from one colour to another can be set globally via setting, or, I guess, for each individual 'cue'. For busking style operation (that's what I do... so feel free to hate me!) it would be handy to have the fade speed for colour parameters under constant manual control.Suggestions welcome.
  10. I do indeed have a cable - Keith sourced it for me about 5 years ago & it lives with my 'slave' Diablo but I'm not eager to sell the cable to be honest. I never used the cable (nor ever had to show a customer hpw to use it) in all the time that Diablo was on sale to be honest. That being said - I know if I sold it, I'd need to use it for one of my customers. Yes, funny isn't it how they are like hens teeth. Thanks anyway.Cliff
  11. Anyone in the UK got the USB-XLR/DMX lead that used to be supplied with Zero 88's Diablo desk that they would like to part with? (I have the desk and PSU in stock... just need the USB-DMX adaptor lead.) email cliff@phosphene.co.uk if you want to get rid of one! (cheaply!)
  12. info@toa.co.uk should be able to help.

Anyone got a PCDJ DMX Bluelite X1 Mini that they would like to part with? email cliff@phosphene.co.uk
  14. Wanted:- A Zero 88 Diablo 'dongle'. (This was a link to connect a PC to the DMX connector on the Diablo, and enabled fixture creation from the PC). Please, if you've got one, contact cliff@phosphene.co.uk

    Versa Disc

A Teatro Versa Disc (remember those?) has developed what appears to be a DMX fault. After power up it shows perfectly normal 'DMX OK' indication. When sent a DMX signal of more than zero the unit responds normally for about 20 seconds and then stops, and shows DMX fail. removing and restoring power clears the fault, but it fails again after a further 20 seconds. The level of the DMX channel sending to the unit, and the number of changes to this, during the 20" working period have no effect on the time before it fails. This is NOT a desk fault. This is NOT related to any particular DMX address (several have been tried by way of experiment). This is NOT due to a badly seated chip or other loose connection(s). It is NOT a faulty PSU.All the Teatro stuff was so good that I'd be sad to lose this gadget. Any other thoughts folks?
