Buying Pyro Online

Does anyone have a source online for le maitre products? I usually go to Stage Electrics but interested to see who else is out there. Bonus points if you can recommend somewhere online rather than having to email suppliers and wait an age for a reply/quote!

That’s not how it works, nobody held major long term stocks of pyros so now they’re not being made youre chasing everyone else desperately hunting for pyros made 6 months ago and bidding against them. The days of “easily” buying leMaitre stock have passed.

Wells Fireworks are an alternative supplier of stage pyrotechnics. A different range of products, and not the 'plug and play' that le maitre offer on some of their range.

Illusion Pyrotechnics in Sittingbourne, Kent have a line of stage pyro. As I think do Viking Fireworks of Ramsgate. Only Le Maitre have their proprietry cartridge-with-pins design.

 

I suspect that both companies will discus product range over the phone and sell by card payment and delivery.

 

 

Even in better days ten years ago my local LeMaitre stockist collected orders and had an appropriate delivery every Tuesday.

The tricky thing is that Le Maitre have been the 'go-to' brand for a lot of venues for years, so anything else that is in any way different to their bespoke pods, or holders are going to be a hard sell to those places.

Switching supplier types isn't going to be an easy choice if you have to invest in a lot of different hardware as well as the pyro itself.

BUT then if there's a choice between that and not getting the pyro at all, then................

If it's either no pyro or no pods then some people are going to have to discover Wago connectors pretty quickly.

 

I heard of someone using old flash bulbs but that was "because they had stock of them" not because they are still easily available. However ebay seems to have stock.

Just remember that the number of carriers prepared to carry Pyro is vanishingly small.

Viking and Illusion both have tame delivery vans and will deliver.

 

If your winter show needs pyro you need to find it now and get it delivered soon. Getting it from a supplier who will deliver saves all the grief of sorting out your own courier.

Illusion Pyrotechnics have an adaptor that lets their articles be used in leMaitre system And they have their own range of plug and play pyro available. They do deliver using a compliant courier. SO anyone with a leMaitre pod system has an alternative supplier.
