  1. For the money I've not come across anything to beat these. Solid aluminium construction. Straightford 4ch rgbw, fans that cut in when needed so silent a lot of the time. The only annoying feature is that the displays flash when receiving DMX, solid when not. Very distracting so mostly get taped over! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/402892668921
  2. Wow - is that 3200 dimmers all wired to individual lamps? And, the power control is actually just plain, simple dimmers. Lots of them! Somewhere around 3200 lightbulbs. I forget the exact number...
  3. Sorry if this has been brought up before - this is quite a long thread to look back over now! When looping an audio cue it would be very useful to be able to specify a different start/end for the loop, different from the initial start and final end point of the cue, if that makes sense Eddie

    Bluetooth

I needed a crying baby doll recently for a show, which was carried around on stage. I put a Bluetooth speaker in the babygro and used one of these to transmit to it. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bluetooth-5-0-Transmitter-Receiver-265FT-80M-Long-Range-3-in-1-Audio-Adapter-Kit/163835664159?hash=item26255dd71f:g:a94AAOSw5Ylb9pFG Ok the the other way round problem but it worked a treat over 15m or so (which the built in BT TX in the laptop wouldn't). The unit also works as a receiver
  5. This is good news. Thank you - donation sent. I was a firm MP user for many years but have to confess I've moved toward SCS in recent years, mainy due to increasing use of imagery in shows. Nothing complicated, just basic stuff eg jpg images only seem to display for a few seconds in MP before disappearing. I never did work out if it was possible to make them display indefinitely. Is that me being daft, a problem with my PC or a feature of MP? For more comples shows, I have used midi cues to control Screen Monkey with a lot of success but it is a bit cumbersome to set up. Audio wise it has always been fine although it is a bit fussy about file formats. Again this could be more to do with my PC than MP. For instance, it won't play 32 bit files, which is sometimes how things downloaded from YouTube etc turn up. I think durations/elapsed/remaining counters go a bit awry with anything other than 44k files too. That's not a big issue so I've not spent much time looking into workarounds, other than to routinely convert everything to 44k/16bit .wav and had no problems Mentioned earlier but the thing about files being changed (mainly duration changes) then throwing an error in MP and refusing to play would be a useful fix. Thank you again David Eddie edit to add: There's also an issue with adding audio files that are not in the $media folder which on this old (Vista!) PC causes the programme to lock up (possibly loop?), since the filename in the dialogue box seems to flash furiously.
  6. Update: A cheapo HDMI splitter seems to have resolved the problem, laptop knows the projector is there and outputs the correct resolution. I guess it must be EDID related but have to confess I'm still a bit baffled!
  7. It’s an EB G7000W. Yes it does also have HDBT but I don’t have a transmitter. I’ve since updated the Dell graphics driver but to no avail. I have tried a Plugable USB to HDMI adapter and that works fine but that was borrowed so I’m running the show on the HP laptop. Still baffled! It’s just that combo of Dell laptop and Epson projector that refuse to play together
  8. 1920x1080 on the telly at home. As far as I can see, there isn't a way to change the resolution when connecting to the projector since it's not detected or recognised at all by the PC so I can't 'select' it to make any changes
  9. Thanks chaps. Certainly food for thought. I’m wondering if the fact that the Dell doesn’t even recognise a connection to the projector does point to an EDID issue. Unfamiliar territory for me but always good to learn! I’ve tried the obvious reboot etc and did take a driver update for the Dell too but to no avail. Odd that the HP laptop plugs and plays seamlessly with both the Epson projector and my LG telly, whilst the Dell is fine with the tv but will not even talk to the Epson. Both have Intel graphics chipsets if that’s relevant. Busy with other stuff for a few days but I’ll keep playing and post a solution if I ever crack it
  10. Setting up some simple projections using SCS...story so far Set it all up at home working on a Dell E6330 (Windows 10) connected to my tv via HDMI, all looks good. Get to theatre and laptop won't detect the projector (Epson G7000), projector shows 'no signal' when switched to HDMI input. Thinking it might be a power issue with the active cable, I tried with a short passive HDMI cable too and that didn't work. Tried another (HP, Win7)) laptop via the 20m cable, works fine so projector seems OK. OK I think, HDMI port on the Dell must have died, but when I take it home again it works fine via another 20m active cable into my telly. I'm stumped! Any ideas gratefully received. Eddie
  11. Oops - just read ur post properly!

I should be free on 13th March if that's your main rig day

  12. Hi Nick

I'm committed at the beeb on 29/30th so can't operate but I might be able to help with the rig. When do you get in?
