Sound: In 2012, SSE Audio Group installed a new L-Acoustics KIVA system in the Butterworth Hall. The system, consisting of two main 10-box KIVA hangs and two 4-box KIVA sidefill hangs was picked due to its smooth and predictable coverage and excellent sound quality. Low end extension is provided by L-Acoustics SB18 Subs, flown two per side. L-Acoustics 8XTi Coaxial compact loudspeakers are deployed in the front fill role. The entire system is powered by L-Acoustics LA4/8 series amplified controllers, housed in custom remote racks on the grid above the auditorium and controlled by LA-Net Control software from the control room.
The system is driven by a Lake LM44 processor and Soundcraft SI3 Digital Mixing Console allowing flexibility in signal processing and system control.
The introduction of the L'Acoustics KIVA system now means that the many touring acts and artists performing at the venue will be able to leave their own PA on the truck and use a system which will improve the experience from the perspectives of both the production and their audience.
Howard Potts, Warwick Arts Center's Technical Director commented, "We have now been using the system for a few weeks and so far it has more than coped with everything we've thrown at it. We are looking forward to using it as much as possible, hopefully for many years to come."
