> Television Channel

Baseband video (composite or component) carries only one picture. To carry multiple pictures over one cable (or indeed transmit it via an antenna), the video must be modulated onto a carrier frequency and mixed with other sources. Each picture within the RF (Radio Frequency) multiplex is then referred to as a Channel. By adding sound to each picture channel on a sub-carrier frequency, you then have the 20th Century marvel that is Television.
