Also known as Harting.

Lighting Multicore system for mains power, used for carrying six circuits of Dimmed Power or Hard Power from the dimmers or socket outlets to the desired location, often to a Six Lamp Bar.

These connectors are available in a number of different versions; it is important to use the right one as they are not interchangeable. In lighting applications we usually use the 'E' series connector. Different manufacturers use slightly different designations - Contact call theirs 'HBE', Harting call theirs 'Han E' and HTS (aka Tyco aka AMP) call theirs 'HE'.

The standard wiring for Lectriflex for lighting is:

Note that there are other pinouts which are in use, especially in Europe. These are typically used to provide 8 circuits, using the connector shell as the CPC. Caution should be exercised. For example DIN 15565-8 specifies pins 7, 8, 15 & 16 as additional Lives & Neutrals for 8-circuit systems. See below for some and this forum topic for further discussion of this.

Often the other pins are also used for 8 circuit multicore then:

13 = Circuit 7 Live

14 = Circuit 7 Neutral

15 = Circuit 8 Live

16 = Circuit 8 Neutral
