Where a digital value is represented by more than one Byte of Binary information, the Byte which represents the lowest value digits is called the 'Least Significant Byte'.

For example, the decimal value 17042 is represented in binary as 01000010 10010010 with the second set of binary digits being the 'Least Significant Byte'.
