One mode of the software used to power Strand's 500 series desks. The other is Light Palette.
DefinitionsChannelA Channel is a numeric Integer that refers to 0, 1 or more Outputs of the desk. A channel has one or more attributes associated with it OutputAn Output is a physical address of a DMX channel coming out of the desk, an output can be 'patched' to 0 or 1 channel or attribute of a channel AttributeAn Attribute is a part of a channel with a specific task, as a decimal of that channel number. Where x.1 is intensity, x.3 is Pan, x.4 is tilt (see Genius Pro Attributes for full list), any attribute apart from the Intensity may be set as 16 Bit. Programming TipsEntry modeThe Genius Pro software allows you to specify in what mode you enter your commands. The options being: These commands most obviously affect the way that you call up channel levels, however the switch between Direct Entry and Command Line modes also affects quite heavily the recording syntx. Single Digit Entry ModeIn Single Digit Direct Entry Mode the user only has to type the initial digit of the two figure percentage that you want the output to be set to, therefore to set a channel to 10 % you would type: [1][@][1] If you wished the output to be 15% you would type: [1][@][1][.][5] To set the channel to 0% (off) you would type: [1][@][0] To set the channel to 100% you have to type either:
[1][@]{FULL}
or [1][@][@] note that the level set by @ FULL is not necessarily 100% as this is definable in the Setup Screen.
Double Digit Entry ModeIn Double Digit Direct Entry Mode the user has to type the full percentage that you wish the output to be set to - up to 99% So, to set a channel to 10% you would type: [1][@][1][0] To set the channel to 15% you would type: [1][@][1][5] To set a channel to 0% (off) you would type [1][@][0][0] As with Single Digit mode, to set a channel to 100% you can again type:
[1][@]{FULL}
note that the level set by @ FULL is not necessarily 100% as this is definable in the Setup Screen. or [1][@][@] Command Line ModeTo set a channel to a level in command line mode you need to press 'enter' (*) after typing the level. So, In order to set a channel to 10% you would type: [1][@][1][0][*] To set a channel to 15% you would type: [1][@][1][5][*] To set a channel to 0% you can type: [1][@][0][0][*] however, as a shortcut you can simply type: [1][@][*] To set a channel to Full, you would follow the same principles as Single And Double digit modes, the simplest being: [1][@][@] Noteing that no 'enter' is required as the desk knows that there is nothing you can type after the second '@'
