When I try to view a topic I see the first post and links to the rest. What's wrong?

Click on 'Options' then select 'Switch to: Standard'. This is a common problem which happens after viewing certain search results.

How do I upload a picture?

You can't upload a picture to the Blue Room server directly however you can upload it elsewhere (PhotoBucket or TinyPic for example) and then embed it in your post by placing the address between IMG tags or post a link to it.

Where has my post gone?

If you can't find your post, and have used the Search function, then the chances are that the post has been removed by a moderator. In this case you will probably have received a PM explaining its removal. Moderators may move posts from one forum to another if they feel it fits better.

My post was removed but I disagree. What can I do?

PM one of the admin team; they'll investigate and should they agree with you re-instate your post.

My post has a pink background. Why is this?

This means your post has been hidden by a moderator and can only seen by you and the moderating team.

Why can't I reply to a post in Commercial Announcements?

The Commercial Announcements forum is specifically for company members to post an announcement about a new product, service or an update. For this reason, we've disabled replies to posts. Please use the PM feature for contacting the original poster.

Why hasn't my post count gone up after I posted in The Crew Room?

Any posts in the Crew Room forum don't count towards your personal post count. This was done in order to prevent members from posting lots of off-topic posts in order to increase their post count.

Why have all the swearwords in my post been removed?

The Blue Room operates an automated swearword filter. When posting it's important to remember that many people will be accessing the Blue Room from work or college where IT staff and automatic firewalls take a rather dim view of websites containing swear words.

Why has the word techie been changed to technician in my post or PM?

Some members see the use of the word techie as a term of derision and it's use frequently stirs up a lot of off topic comments. In order to keep topics on track it's automatically replaced in the same way swearwords are.

How do I link to products on Amazon?

To insert an image link use the following code [amazon]##########[/amazon] where ########## is the Amazon code for the book (ASIN) which can be found in the address of the books page. Sometimes this won't work in which case you will need to replace 'amazon' with 'amazon2' in both tags.

If you want a text link use [amazon3=##########]Text[/amazon3] again where ########## is the Amazon code for the book (ASIN) which can be found in the address of the books page.

A small percentage of the income from links created by the "Amazon" code goes towards the running of the Blue Room.
