A hardened box for protecting sensitive electrical equipment or an instrument during transport/storage.

The flightcase is often reinforced on the edges by aluminium extrusion, flightcases are regularly fitted with shaped sponge to exactly fit their intended contents. Some flightcases have the lid totally removable and in some instances a piece of equipment such as a lighting or Mixing Desk may never be removed from the bottom half of the flightcase.
