In technical theatre, a degree is most likely to be either:
A unit of angular measurement
- A degree (in full, a degree of arc, arc degree, or arcdegree), usually denoted by ° (the degree symbol), is a measurement of plane angle, representing 1⁄360 of a full rotation.
OR
A unit of temperature measurement
- The term degree is used in several scales of temperature. The symbol ° is usually used, followed by the initial letter(s) of the unit, for example “°C” for degree(s) Celsius. For temperature differences, the usage is sometimes reversed; then 100 C°, or “100 Celsius degrees”, is a temperature difference, while 100 °C, or “100 degrees Celsius”, is an actual temperature.
