> Alternating Current

Alternating Current is the description for a flow of electrons through a conductor, etc, which reverses direction at very frequent intervals. In the UK this is 100 times a second (50 complete cycles or 50 Hz), In the US this is 120 times a second (60 complete cycles or 60 Hz).
