The ADB WARP is a range of zoom profile lanterns featuring ring control to focus them. There are both conventional lanterns and motorised versions available.

WARP Motorized

The manually operated fixture is also available in a fully automated version known as the WARP Motorized.

In the WARP/M unit (patent pending), the "fingers" are replaced by 12 three-phase stepper motors (for low noise), each with a high precision gearwheel drive meshing with the toothed outer rim of the control rings. The lantern with this add-on motorisation kit is mounted into a robust yoke containing two additional motors for the pan & tilt movements, the control electronics and, in the top box, a large LED display, the necessary connectors and the menu control buttons. An optional sinewave dimmer will be added soon.

The automated and the manual WARP lanterns feature identical photometric characteristics, thus allowing both versions to coexist in a rig, and perfect colour matching when colour changers are used. In addition the user has the choice between two zoom ranges, 12°-30° and 22°-50°. They also feature 360° endless rotation capability of gobos and each individual shutter blade, allowing the creation of shapes which are impossible with any other profile. 16 bit resolution for the control of all functions. All-in-one remote control of all functions, i.e. shutters, iris, gobos, zoom and focus. Therefore no need to swap specific motorization modules depending on required functions.

WARP/M is controlled via DMX 512 or Ethernet (Artnet) protocol, and is ACN and RDM ready. Programming and editing can be performed via a standard PC with an ordinary web browser; all features are formatted as web pages, so no additional control software is required.

There is also no need for long and noisy reset sequences, e.g. after a power off, as the WARP/M uses absolute sensors for detecting its position.
