Full Version: Martin Mac250 Krypton issue - Fan

Hi,

Got an issue with one of my 250 kryptons and have run out of ideas, I'm pretty sure its a PCB issue but want to make sure 100% thats what it is!

The 'Head Fan' (F1) isn't spinning. I have traced this back to the PCB only outputting 7.2v, where it should be 12v. The base fan, (F2) is outputting the full 12v.

Another thing worth noting is the screen appears to be 'flickering' or flashing on / off and between brightness levels now and again.

Tested things:
- Continuity check on cable from PCB to fan = OK
- Spare new fan plugged into F1 = FAIL
- Current fan with F1 connector plugged into F2 socket = OK

The voltage for F1 output doesnt change with the lamp struck or not.

I'd be tempted to say PF Cap but I dont beleive that would affect the PCB power?

Any ideas? I'm at a loss on this one without swapping out the PCB for another known working one (means loosing another light for a few days which is not ideal!).

Thanks,

Okay... meter all the power inputs to the PCB... from the power supply. Also look at the board/schematics to trace the path to F1 on the board... you can ignore any circuitry shared with F2. There's something wrong in there most likely.

Thanks for the reply, I managed to get another PCB to test... confirms its the PCB sad.gif

Can anyone recommend any PCB repair companies?
