Hi,
I am thinking of building a small mobile stage - probably 6-8 metres wide x 4-5 metres deep.
Towable by 4 wheel drive or small truck.
Just wondering if anyone out there has any ideas, plans, suggestions...
Obviously I want to set it up and break it down as quickly as possible with max of 2 crew, and would like it to cost as little as possible... but other than that....
Alternatively if anyone here is sunny Australia is thinking of selling one - let me know ....

Get yourself a curtain side truck and some steel deck!
Open the side of the truck, and build out with steel deck to make it bigger, when not in use, pile up the steel deck inside it!
Done it many times before!

Brings back memories of wango rileys amazing performing horse box .A normal looking truck that in a previous live had been used to transport horses, but had been adapted so one side hinged down, with a second layer that hinged up to give a covered stage. The sleeper cab was converted into a production office/control area. If you went to a free festival in the 80's theres a good chance you saw it in action. Think after the horse box they moved up to a furniture removal lorry that was similarly adapted.
Edit to add
Found a few piccys ,unfortunatley not of the horsebox

As ever, investment vs continuing labour cost. An articulated trailer with it's own hydraulic pump and with roof that rises and sides that come out like a fairground machine will cost a LOT more than an old truck and some deck, but the recurring labour cost will always be there every time you need a big crew to move the stage in and out.
