Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a good free lance sound engineer in Newcastle? I am looking for someone to help me set up my system (digital processor, eq etc etc).

Happy to pay the right person.

I'm much more particular to clear vocals and instrumentation than slamming kick drum, if that's any help.

There's a fella in Whitley Bay who I bought our rig off, he will be able to help, he is a very, very good sound engineer. He's on this board too I think as Gambit.

Kim Watson on PSW/LAB is a Sand Dancer and is IIRC freelance at the moment - she may well be able to help you.

OT, Kim, what time did you get done Sunday night in the end. I managed to just beat the crowd off site through the courtyard after loading the courtyard stages gear out and race out through that exit there else there was a vehicle curfew from the staff / bands car park etc until 11:30 so I'm told.

Hey Rob

Oh man did we have a laugh on load out. our band was down on time about 9.30 iirc and we had the stage stripped and all cased in 45 mins..... and waited.... till the truck was aloud on site. we were first in!

In that time we devised a genius method of loading out quicker... The ground outside the tent had turned in to mud bath.

We broke the barrier...... and stole the FOH decking.... and ran the cases to the truck across the decking rather than the mud. halved the load out time! ramp down off stage on to deck and then ramp down on to the road outside our tent.

we were laughing the whole time. We got back to the wearhouse and unloaded by about 1/2 is I think..... had a cup of tea and headed home. then my night from HELL happened (http://blogs.myspace.com/monitorminxdiary if you want to read about it...... ) what fun.

How did your day go?

Kim Watson
