recording I plan to transfer the files from hd 24 to my computer for editing and
then dump it to the video editor.please help me with information on how to do

Use a clapperboard & sync things up with your eyes & ears once it's all on the computer. I've done many video + multitrack sound recordings & have no problems at all doing it this way.

Indeed. I've also done many that way without any problems. The one time I did have a problem was when I accidentally left the HD24 at 44k1 rather than 48k. This was when I discovered that it doesn't actually run at 44100Hz - it's closer to 44117Hz. Seeing as you posted this on the Sound on Sound forum too, have a search on there for more details if you're interested - it's been covered many times before.

If you want it right you need to feed the HD24 and your video recorder/camcorder with SMPTE time code - I think the HD24 has T/C in but you don't say what you are using to record the video

HD24 has MTC in and out so I think I'k use the HD24 as the master, convert MTC to LTC or VITC and record that on the video.

But timecode these days isn't as necesary as it was pre-digital and especially as (and this bit is an 'I believe' as I've never actually done it) a before and after clap can be set in many video editing products and they'll stretch or shrink the tracks to fit the claps.

If memory serves, the HD24 won't chase timecode so you do indeed have to use it as master. I've recorded for just over an hour with one alongside un-synced cameras and didn't need to do any stretching at all in the edit. Crystals are pretty stable these days.

I'd agree with the rest. After all, multi-cam work now rarely requires syncing the cameras, so syncing with a clap or whatever is a piece of cake. In fact, it's never even occured to me to cable up my HD24!
