Comhairle
Hi guys. I have a soundcraft mixer with an intermittent problem. Now and then I get this awful banging and/or whooshing noise outputting from the stereo master. It happens even when all channels are closed but when the master is up. I have a feeling its a power supply issue. The power supply is a CPS 150 and is probably 10 years old. I've opened the powr supply and had a little poke at individual components to see if I can make it misbehave but it didn't. Can anybody throw any light on the matter!? Brian.

We had a very similar problem about a year ago, on a Soundcraft desk with a CPS450 PSU. Bottom line - check the PSU capacitors, and not just the big ones.

Cheers man, Think its sorted now, had a little fiddle with output supply from circuit board and I resoldered the joints. It seems happy enough now!
