Have a look at the Brooke range of speakers. Seen quite a few hire companies using these speakers as their budget range.

The Box is just crap. It falls into parts just by looking on it. Save your money and buy quality instead, that will cost you less.

What brand do you like already? as in what do you use? Try going with the more budget cabinet from that manufacturer. I have jbl mrx's a lil bit more expensive due to having light weight magnets. if I wanted some cheaper hire stock for people on a budget I could buy some srx's
We have sets of old peavey hisys 2's, what are most likely slated on here. but, they are a respected speaker with in the mobile dj world (bottom/mid market). if I had a dj who wanted just a cheap set of speakers for a party, he is going to be more than thrilled when 2 hisys 2's and a pair of 118 bins turn up. chances are he wont ever of heard of the better makes we all would love to own.
When people start the what speaker debate the importance of cost always gets overlooked. you need to look at what price you are to hire them out at, then find the best with in that budget.

So are we talking about those specific thomann boxes or the whole range? If you mean the whole range then sadly (to be as blunt as you about it) you're wrong. That's all.

The Box is just crap.
I wouldn't say that.
Some respected members on here rate them as a budget option.
I have heard the box 15's full range and the sound is not too bad.

I have heard a couple of "The Box Pro" speakers (12"+horn) and I like the sound they produce.
"The Box" and "The Box Pro" are totally different IMO and "The Box Pro" are much better.

They may sound good in some peoples opinions but they hardly look professional.

Likewise... Though I'm sure I've seen your name on logistics, so I have a feeling we're on about the same company. (Running Nexo as their main rig?)
Have also come across the db technologies boxes, admittedly mostly in the 10" conference box form, bought as a "disposable item" and have been suitably impressed, though not sure how the larger boxes perform when used in anger.

for my lower range stuff I use W Audio PSR 12A's, powered 12 Inch cabs, they sound good and loud and cost about £440 a pair. Price includes covers which is a godsend considering they are plastic cabs. I have 4 and use them in pairs for small vocal PA's, as monitors and for small Disco's
they also do a 15" version for not alot more, although I cant vouch for them.
Theyve just realised a powered 15 Sub which is meant to sound great, although I am still trying to find someone with a pair so I can have a listen myself!

I use a pair of
Studiospares Fortissimo 15A as a vocal PA with the blues/rock trio I play in, similarly priced to the Warrior speakers and, while I haven't heard a direct comparison, I would think they are pretty similar. There is also a 12", a 10" and a 15" sub in the range as well as passive versions. You'd have to get the speaker bag separately as it's not included in the price.

That's certainly an interesting perspective! Mind you, with the specs given for the
Achat Pro 115 MA and the GBP 390 price, I'd love to know how this box performs. I have a sneaking suspicion that it may well give quite an impressive price/performance. Such a shame there isn't a Thomann demo facility in the UK...
Still kicking myself for missing and unmissable (!) RCF TT22A & TT18A package last year...

looks defentley dont matter too much as on some of the jobs I have done the client has had 2 differnet makes of speaker, I am in the process of getting 2 speaker systems
1 for my more pro jobs
1 for my more budget/dry hire job
as most of the work I do the client has no idea on makes of speakers and it seames most of the time have no idea of bad sound eaither.
then a cheep box that dose not sound good to every tech is not too much of an issue

To avoid confusion, my point was that, looks-wise, there isn't much difference. Sound-wise, I would think (hope!) there is a significant difference.

I've done quite a few installs on budgets with the Thomann boxes, not this particular range - although looking at the images of the last two cabs they look fine to me, and boxes that fall apart - what a really stupid post! - won't be ones with flying hardware available. The legal implications of selling kit that is designed to be flown means that cabinet construction is pretty vital.
I suspect I know which factory these are made in, and if you have to buy without listening, then at least you can send Thomann back, even if it's at your cost. These cabs are not really budget either at that price, but not too bad.
On the website, they seem to be shifting them, and doing a google doesn't return negative comments from buyers, as many iffy products do.
There are more satisfied Thomann 'The Box' customers on here than one misinformed post from somebody who may well have never even seen or heard these. Don't let this put you off. Remember - on an internet forum, advice is a guide. You have no idea how good the advice you get is, but the same comments from many people do help set your mind at rest.
