Has anyone had any hands-on time with the ZED 420.
Its appealing to me for price and functions but there are very few in spain I can get hold of without buying, and I´d preffer to demo or at least hear thoughts...
so..
Thoughts?

yeah, I like them. what's your application though? the corners that were cut from the GL are things like the aux/group reverse buttons, and pre/post aux switches. for FoH they're okay, but you cant put it on monitor duty like you can a GL. one big plus over the 2400 though, is the mono bus. all the zed 4 bus consoles have a mono bus

the next biggest console to get that in the A&H range is the 2800.

its going to be the start of me "getting myself going" with my own company here in valencia.
going to get me a small cheap desk for the 1 radiomic/cd player jobs and something like the ZED 420 for anything else that comes along.
As I´m going to be starting out I need a "bit of everything" desk at not too high a price, but at the same time I want to spend my money well.
I´ve been told yesterday that my XMAS pressie will be 4x c747´s and 4x SM58s, and a 5keuro loan from my parents to pay back in 2 years so its a good start!

I used one on tour. great deks for allen and heath..... great sounding for the money. I havent used the USB but they def sound better than the GL series they feel a lot more sturdy as well even though there cheaper.

I got one for the band, upgraded from an old Yamaha desk. It has trasnformed our sound, it's a really good desk, nice to mix on and so easy to get a good drum sound. Also haven't used the USB yet but it definately does the job for me.

its definitely geared towards combined FoH/mons mixing, which seems good for you. when I said the auxes are fixed, I meant to say 1/2 are fixed pre, 5/6 are fixed post, but 3/4 are switchable. it gives you a little bit of flexibility, but not half as much as a GL.
